The Byre

Verified by us: Our stay at the Byre was thoroughly relaxing. Thomas couldn’t have been more helpful, and made sure we were completely happy before leaving us to settle into the cottage. Don’t let the rustic exterior fool you – inside is a bright, airy, and modern space, with wide doorways and plenty of room for wheeling around.
The Byre is a 3 bedroom wheelchair accessible cottage in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This steading conversion is set on a working farm just outside the small village of Lumsden which is between the towns of Alford and Huntly.
The Bedrooms
The three bedrooms all have ensuite shower rooms.
Bedroom one has a Super King size zip and link bed that will split to make 2 singles. It has been designed to allow enough room for wheelchair users. The ensuite wet room is fitted out with grab handles and frames and a fold up shower seat.
The second bedroom has a King size zip and link bed that will split to make 2 singles again with ensuite shower room.
Bedroom three has a Double bed again with an ensuite with extra large shower.
The Living Space
The cottage is all on one level with no steps inside or out.
The open plan Kitchen/Living room has a large dining table (to seat six). You’ll also find comfortable sofas to relax in and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen also has all the utensils and equipment you may need.
The property is double glazed with underfloor heating with thermostats in every room to give you your optimum temperature. There is also a wood burning stove, Smart TV and wireless internet.
Outside
Outside the Patio doors is a paved patio area with adjoining lawn. Undoubtedly, you can relax and enjoy the fields of animals and wildlife on the farm. It’s also the perfect spot to enjoy the quiet and take in the view.
In addition, adjoining the cottage is a large drying room. Here you’ll find a dryer to compliment the washing machine and plenty of space to dry outdoor clothing or for the storage of fishing gear (access to a large freezer is available for your catch). Also, you can store bicycles or similar equipment here. Immediately outside is an electric car charging point.
